"There are no trains, scheduled to depart from Platforms 1 and 2 today."
On a desolate and empty train platform I stood in wait. Late into the night, it's a freezing August night. Temperatures so low you felt your fingers could snap off. I wanted some company, where the only company I had was a desolate platform light and a PRIDE talking box, and let me assure you, PRIDE isn't much of a conversationalist.
"The following services will not run today: the 8.48, Sydenham, stopping all stations to Watergardens. The 8.51, City Loop, stopping all stations to Flinders Street except South Kensington. The 9.08, Sydenham, stopping all stations to Wate
The Autumn leaves rustled in the gentle breeze. Each gust making the trees sing with their characteristic rustle. Some of the leaves would fall bit by bit, littering the pavement and parked cars of the small suburban way, and blown by the next gust of wind. Children came out of the safety of their homes to play in the street. Gathering the leaves in large bundles, only to toss them in the air. Their laughter, their joy, mixed in with the breeze and trees. The sun was out on this clear afternoon.
I walked down the street taking it all in. As I walked, I watched the children. Their smiles filled me with youth. I felt like joining them and play
That dreaded time of year, I thought to myself as the impending doom of what I was getting myself into wrenched at my gut. As I sat on the bus, I looked out the window in search of solace. The sight of passing grass, signs and other bits of the environment did not calm me, but rather acted as indicators to the distance and time remaining between my current location and school, where I would sit one of the hardest tests of my years as a school student: the Year 12 General Achievement Test. This gruelling three hour test sets out to assess my competence at school with a series of writing tests and Multiple choice. The test is set by the state,

A poetry competition started recently and I've entered a poem for judging next month. As such, I won't be uploading it here just yet, as I'm afraid someone on the judging panel will come to this Deviantart page and scream "Plagiarism!" (Even though its my poetry >_>).
Expect to see it soon. I'll let you all know whether or not I win.
